Company Info and History

For more than a decade, Snowy River EMS Productions LLC has evolved from a small local training organization into a worldwide company with operations abroad, dedicated to "Saving the Patients of Tomorrow through Education Today".  The company has devoted its time and resources to developing and offering quality education courses to healthcare providers across a number of specialized fields including security operations, healthcare providers, allied health, and the public sector. Additionally we are focusing our efforts on educating the community through outreach programs. We are committed to developing a comprehensive training facility that will provide continuing education to healthcare providers at all levels. Everyone affiliated with Snowy River EMS Productions LLC are all experienced healthcare providers who continue to stay up to date on current treatments, trends and research.

As healthcare providers, we are tasked with helping to save lives, but we can only do our jobs effectively if the chain of survival is activated early. To increase the chance of survival for our patients and offer a chance for improved outcomes, we must educate not only healthcare providers, but also focus our efforts on educating the public increasing community awareness empowering them to act.

Affiliating with national and international organizations such as the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT), American Academy of Pediatrics, American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI), National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT), American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) as a multi-disciplined training center offering high caliber quality education classes will help us to achieve our mission of “saving the patients of tomorrow through education today”; ultimately helping to achieve the missions of each of each organization as well.

Continuing Education/Contact Hours – CE/Contact hours for courses are available for EMT’s, Paramedics, RN's and allied healthcare professionals. Physicians may turn in the course completion certificate for CME hours. Snowy River EMS Productions LLC CE Provider # 60-0290. Snowy River EMS Productions LLC is approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing Provider CEP15433.

Required Disclaimers, Terms and Conditions

Book Policy: For American Heart Association courses, students are mandated to have a copy of the current course provider manual for use before, during, and after each course. Students must bring the text to class. Textbooks are available for purchase from authorized AHA distributors – check out our bookstore page for details or contact the office for information on purchasing texts.

Rescheduling Policy: Students may reschedule one time for a $50.00 fee with 7 days advance written notice; with less than 7 days advance written notice the fee is one-half the course fee. Failure to appear will result in the forfeiture of the entire course fee.

Cancellation Policy: Snowy River EMS Productions LLC reserves the right to cancel a course up to 5 business days prior to the course. In the event a course is cancelled, students will receive a full refund or have the option to be moved into another course with their current fees applied and no additional charge.

Executive Staff and Contact Information

Erica M. Paredes, MBA, Director of Operations:

Erica Paredes, MBA has been involved in EMS since 1992 as an EMT. She is currently an EMS Clinical Specialist and has been working in the medical device industry since 2005. Prior to that, she was extensively involved with the growth and expansion of the San Francisco Paramedic Association as the Office/Business Manager since 1995. Her role at the SFPA ranged from front office management, to interacting with instructors at all levels to curricula and special programs development with the educational director. She an extensive background in working with National EMS education programs and was active in the Guidelines rollout of 2000 in northern California for the American Heart Association. In 2007, Erica obtained her Masters in Business Administration (MBA) degree and has put it to good use in the medical device realm. Erica is an instructor in PHTLS, PEPP, and all the AHA disciplines. Her experience in the medical device industry has enabled her to work all over the world and deal with a large number of EMS agencies (public, private, and military) throughout the United States. She is also currently a textbook reviewer with Jones and Bartlett and Elsevier Publishing.

Larry Schiel, CCEMT-P, Director of Education:

Larry Schiel, CCEMT-P has been involved in EMS since 1984 working in a variety of positions from a flight paramedic, to clinical educator, QA/QI manager, affiliate faculty member and educator for the University of Maryland Fire Rescue Institute (MFRI), to Assistant Fire Chief at Kirkwood and currently a Paramedic Supervisor for a large metropolitan EMS provider in California. He has been an EMS educator since 1991 has obtained Affiliate Faculty status for PHTLS, AMLS, and ITLS as well as Regional Faculty status in ACLS and BLS and former training center coordinator status for the American Heart Association. Currently, Larry is an instructor in all disciplines – BLS, ACLS, PALS, AMLS, PHTLS, PEPP, and ITLS, AHSI curricula (ACLS, BLS, and First Responder). As the past PHTLS state coordinator for NAEMT Larry has extensive experience in mentoring and monitoring instructors and training centers. Currently Larry is an EMS textbook reviewer with Jones and Bartlett.
