ACLS Provider Course - This 2-day course is designed to provide students with the knowledge to assess and manage an adult cardiac arrest situation. Emphasis is placed on the importance of providing basic life support towards improving patient survival, the integration of advanced life support into patient care, and the importance of teamwork in resuscitation efforts. Upon completion of this course, students will be able to recognize, manage, and treat a variety of cardiac arrest situations. Students will practice and perform as a team leader during an adult cardiac arrest, recognize the patient’s response to different therapeutic modalities and adjust the course of treatment accordingly as defined by current guidelines.
Course Prerequisites: Students must have a solid foundation of cardiac pharmacology and EKG interpretation.
Students must bring the following materials to the course:
- Completed ACLS course pretest - located on the CD contained within ACLS Provider Manual. If CD does not work please call 1-800-242-8721
- A current AHA ACLS Provider Manual (with computer CD)
Topics covered in this course include: Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Overview, Management and Care of Respiratory Emergencies, Acute Coronary Syndromes, Electrical Therapies, Pharmacology, Stroke and the treatment of the following conditions – Pulseless Electrical Activity (PEA), Asystole, Tachycardias (stable and unstable), Shock Resistant Ventricular Fibrillation/Ventricular Tachycardia, and Bradycardia.

ACLS Refresher Course (8hr) – This 1-day course is designed to provide students with the knowledge to assess and manage an adult cardiac arrest situation. Upon completion of this course, students will be able to recognize, manage, and treat a variety of cardiac arrest situations. 4-hr ACLS Refresher Course – This accelerated 4-hour course is designed to provide students with the knowledge to assess and manage an adult cardiac arrest situation. This course is video driven for topic review of current guidelines followed by direct integration into testing stations. Emphasis is place on the importance of providing basic life support to improve patient survival, the integration of advanced life support into patient care, and the importance of teamwork in resuscitation efforts. Upon completion of this course, students will be able to recognize, manage, and treat a variety of cardiac arrest situations. Students will perform as a team leader during an adult cardiac arrest, recognize the patient’s response to different therapeutic modalities, and adjust the course of treatment accordingly as defined by current guidelines.
Course Prerequisites: Students must have a current ACLS Provider card, and a solid foundation of cardiac pharmacology and EKG interpretation. Students must be well versed in managing a cardiac arrest scenario.
Students must bring the following materials to the course:

Emphasis is placed on the importance of providing basic life support to improve pediatric patient survival, the integration of advanced life support into pediatric care, and the importance of teamwork in resuscitation efforts. Upon completion of this course, students will be able to recognize, treat, and manage a variety of pediatric emergencies including cardiac arrest, respiratory arrest, and shock. Students will practice/perform as the team leader in a variety of pediatric situations, recognize the patient’s response to different therapeutic modalities, and adjust the course of treatment according to current guidelines.
Course Prerequisites: Students must have a solid foundation of pharmacology and EKG interpretation.
Students must bring the following materials to the course:

PHTLS Provider Course – The Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support course is designed to provide healthcare providers with a pre-hospital trauma care philosophy, stressing the need to treat the multi-system trauma patient as a unique entity with specific needs. This scenario-based course focuses on trauma patients in the prehospital environment, understanding the importance of a rapid assessment, rapid extrication, treatment of multi-system trauma patients. Upon completion of this course students will be able to recognize, identify and treat multi-system trauma patients, relate pathophysiology of injuries, and have a more comprehensive understanding of pre-hospital trauma interventions.
Course Prerequisites: Students must bring the following materials to the course:
Topics covered include - kinematics of trauma, identification of the mechanism of injury, patient assessment, airway management, shock,specific traumatic injuries (including head, spinal, thoracic, abdominal, musculoskeletal, burns, blunt and penetrating trauma) pediatric trauma, geriatric trauma, environmental trauma (including heat/cold emergencies, drownings, lightning, diving injuries and altitude emergencies) pediatric assessment, rapid extrication, traumatic brain injuries, spinal immobilization (adult and pediatric), and special considerations such as disaster management and weapons of mass destruction.

ITLS Course – Formerly known as BTLS or Basic Trauma Life Support, the ITLS courses provide students with the knowledge and skills (hands-on) to take better care of trauma patients. This course emphasizes rapid assessment, appropriate interventions and identification of immediate life threats. ITLS provides for a rapid, appropriate and effective trauma care is a global standard that works in any situation. ITLS combines classroom learning and hands-on skills stations that challenge the students with scenarios that put learning into simulated trauma situations.
Course Prerequisites: Students must bring the following materials to the course:
- Current edition of the ITLS Provider Manual
- Copy of current ITLS or BTLS card for renewal courses

AMLS Course – The Advanced Medical Life Support is an in-depth study of medical emergencies. This course offers a pragmatic approach to applying an advanced EMS knowledge base to common medical emergencies. The curriculum is designed to allow for minimal amount of classroom lecture and an ample amount of actual hands-on physical assessment of patients. Upon completion of the AMLS course students will be able to apply critical thinking skills to integrate pathophysiology with the assessment findings of a medical patient, determine and differentiate between actual and potential patient problems, navigate from an initial assessment-based approach to a diagnostic-based approach to assessment, identify probable differential diagnoses from focused patient histories, physical exam and diagnostic information. Students will demonstrate their ability to conduct a competent medical examination that utilizes proper diagnostic skills, critical thinking, and interventions, initiate, and modify management strategies based on the assessment findings and patient response. Students will also demonstrate the ability to communicate the pertinent findings and interventions to the receiving facility.

PEPP Provider/Renewal Course – This course is designed to provide prehospital providers with the education, skills, and confidence necessary to effectively treat pediatric patients. Upon completion of this course, students will be able to apply critical thinking skills to recognize, assess, and treat prehospital pediatric emergencies. Students will be able to use the pediatric assessment triangle (PAT) to determine a course of action and treatment. Students will be able to recognize the patient’s condition, response to initial treatments and adjust the course of therapeutic modalities based on the patient’s presentation.
Course Prerequisites: Students must bring the following materials to the course:
- Current edition of the PEPP Provider Manual
- Copy of current PEPP card for renewal courses
Topics covered include – pediatric assessment triangle (PAT), child development, airway management, child maltreatment, trauma, respiratory emergencies, medical emergencies, cardiovascular emergencies, emergency childbirth, and newborn stabilization, children with special healthcare needs, SIDS, vascular access, and pharmacology.
Cost: Provider course - $265.00 - 16 hours of CE hours available upon completion.
Renewal course - $200.00 - 8 hours of CE hours available upon completion.
BLS for Healthcare Providers Course – This 4.5 hour course will provide students with the knowledge to manage victims of all ages suffering from a cardiac arrest event. Emphasis is placed on the importance of providing basic life support to patient survival, the integration of advanced life support into patient care when help arrives, and the importance of teamwork in resuscitation efforts.
Course Prerequisites: Students must bring the following materials to the course:
- A current AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers Manual
Topics covered include – cardiopulmonary skills for adults, children and infants, foreign body airway obstructions, use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) and rescue breathing using an assortment of devices.
Cost: $65.00 - 4 hours of CE/Contact hours available upon completion of the course. CE hours are available for EMTs, Paramedics, and allied healthcare providers. Nurses are not eligible for BLS HCP contact hours.
BLS HCP Refresher Course - This 2 hour course will provide students with the knowledge to manage victims of all ages suffering from a cardiac arrest event. Cost: $45.00 - 2 hours of CE/Contact hours available upon completion of the course.
