ABOUT US

For more than a decade, Snowy River EMS Productions LLC has evolved from a small local training organization into a worldwide company with operations abroad, dedicated to "Saving the Patients of Tomorrow through Education Today" and "Saving Patients through Direct Intervention".  The company has devoted its time and resources to developing and offering quality education courses to healthcare providers and law enforcement across a number of specialized fields including security operations, healthcare providers, allied health, and the public sector. Additionally we are focusing our efforts on educating the community through outreach programs. We are committed to developing a comprehensive training facility that will provide continuing education to healthcare providers at all levels. Everyone affiliated with Snowy River EMS Productions LLC are all experienced healthcare providers, military, or law enforcement who continue to stay up to date on current treatments, trends, tactics and research.
 
As healthcare providers, we are tasked with helping to save lives, but we can only do our jobs effectively if the chain of survival is activated early. To increase the chance of survival for our patients and offer a chance for improved outcomes, we must educate not only healthcare providers, but also focus our efforts on educating the public increasing community awareness empowering them to act.

Erica  has been involved in EMS since 1992 beginning as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). She has experience as a EMS Clinical Specialist and has been working in the medical device industry since 2005. Prior to that, she was extensively involved with the growth and expansion of the San Francisco Paramedic Association as the Office/Business Manager since 1995. Erica's expertise in EMS education ranges from front office management, to interacting with instructors at all levels to curricula and special programs development with the educational director. She an extensive background in working with National EMS education programs and the American Heart Association.

 

In 2007, Erica obtained her Masters in Business Administration (MBA) degree and has put it to good use in the medical device realm. She is an instructor in PHTLS, AMLS, EMPACT, PEPP, and all the AHA disciplines. Additionally she is Training Center Faculty for BLS, ACLS, and PALS. Her experience in the medical device industry has enabled her to work all over the world and deal with a large number of EMS agencies (public, private, and military) throughout the United States. She is also currently a textbook reviewer with Jones and Bartlett and Elsevier Publishing. 

 

Erica is a National Rifle Association Chief Range Safety Officer, Certified Pistol Instructor and Certified Refuse To Be A Victim Instructor. She continues to work towards becoming a tactics instructor.

Amelia Breyre, MD
Medical Director

"Amelia Breyre, MD received her undergraduate degree at Columbia University in New York  and her medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. She completed her Emergency Medicine residency training at Highland Hospital in Oakland, California and will complete her Emergency Medical Service (EMS)/Disaster fellow at the University of California San Francisco (2021). She has deployed with the California Medical Assistance Team (CALMAT) to work with supporting firefighters during wildfires and COVID-19 patients at Alternate Care Sites throughout California. Amelia's academic interests include palliative care, disaster preparedness, and prehospital trauma care. Currently, Dr. Breyre teaches and serves as a subject matter expert for all programs offered by Snowy River EMS Productions."

Ed Sawicki, MBA EMT-P
Director - EMS Divison

Ed Sawicki earned his Bachelors Degree in Biology, in 1986, and obtained his Masters degree in Business Administration from Golden Gate University in 2001. He has been nationally registered as a Paramedic since 1988, and a Hazardous Material Specialist since 1997, and served as member of FEMA's National Disaster Medical Assistant Team since 2001. He has responded to many disasters including the Springfield Ma. Chlorine Spill, the attack on World Trade Center, Hurricane Katrina and Rita.

 

Ed has over 26-years experience working in Emergency Medical Services (EMS). He served as both Operation and General Manager in the private sector. His experience with the private, public, and volunteers plays an important role when it comes to system design and development. In addition to his management skills, he also served as a lead instructor for Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) and Paramedics. He played a key role in the merger of the San Francisco Department of Public Health Paramedic division into the Fire Department. When he was not teaching in the academy, he was clinically supervising 30 EMTs and Paramedics as a Paramedic Rescue Captain. He is actively involved on the national level with disaster planning and improving the profession for the next generation.

 

Ed has authored a number of articles for the JEMS and EMS Insider Magazines. He serves on the Editorial Advisory Board for JEMS and as an expert witness, as well as volunteer with the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT) as Treasurer and Chair of numerous committees.  Currently, Ed is an instructor in all disciplines - BLS, ACLS, PALS, AMLS, PHTLS, ATLS and EMPACT. He has also served as the Director of Training for private ambulance providers in California and agencies on the East Coast.Ed has extensive knowledge and experience in mentoring and developing instructors and is dedicated to promoting high quality education and training for all healthcare providers.

Tate Brummitt has been working in the contracts and procurement arena for over 15 years encompassing work at the Federal, State, and Local government level and within the commercial industry. Tate began his career with the U.S. Air Force as a commissioned officer after graduating from Norwich University with a B.S in Business Administration & Accounting.  Tate received his MBA from the University of Notre Dame. 

 

During his tenure as an officer, Tate served at various bases stateside, in Europe and in the Middle East supporting both Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom as a Contingency Contracting Officer for the 823rd RED HORSE Squadron. Upon leaving the Air Force in 2006, Tate set out to work in the private sector for Disaster Recovery Contractor responsible for recovery operations in Louisiana after Hurricane Katrina, and is currently works for a large defense contractor negotiating contracts.

 

Tate is a National Rifle Association Chief Range Safety Officer and Certified Pistol Instructor. He is also an American Heart Association CPR and First Aid Instructor. Tate has also taken on the responsibility for the oversight of our Tactical Solutions Division.

Jane Smith, MA, EMT-P
Director - Continuing Education

Jane has been in EMS for over 30 years. She has worked in the private sector for transport ambulance providers as well as the San Francisco Department of Public Health as a paramedic. When DPH merged with the San Francisco Fire Department Jane served as the primary paramedic instructor before becoming the Section Chief of EMS.

 

In her tenure at San Francisco Fire, Jane served not only as a Section Chief of EMS, but also as a Paramedic Captain and EMS Chief.   Her experience in both Fire and EMS coupled with her desire to promote education led her to become an integral part of the San Francisco Paramedic Association as the EMT Program Director and Chief Executive Officer.

 

Since 2008 Jane has served as a Commissioner for the California EMS Authority. After the closure of the SFPA Jane took the EMT Program to the University of San Francisco to continue the program’s success before moving it to Snowy River EMS Productions. Jane oversees the quality of all Snowy River EMS Productions courses and ensures compliance with CE requirements.

 

Jane holds a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Biology/Chemistry from the University of San Francisco and a Master’s Degree in Adult Learning from San Francisco State University. She did a fellowship with the California Healthcare Foundation.
